Inter-American Framework

The Inter-American System for the protection of human rights is responsible for monitoring and ensuring implementation of human rights guarantees in the members of the Organization of American States (OAS). The System is composed of two bodies: the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. The Commission and Court are charged with interpreting and applying a number of regional human rights instruments, which include the American Convention on Human Rights and Inter-American Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities.
